Give your old clothes new life by eco-printing magic plant patterns with leaves, flowers, and seeds—fun, colour, and hands-on!

 

This hands-on FREE WORKSHOP introduces the basic concepts of eco-printing, a beautiful natural dyeing technique that uses leaves, flowers, seeds, and bark to transfer colours and organic shapes directly onto fabric. The result is a one-of-a-kind textile, coloured by nature.

No experience needed—just bring your eco-friendly vibe and get ready to create!

 

What you'll learn:

• Dye plants and how they work

• The use of mordants (colour fasteners)

• Fabric types for natural dyeing

 

What to bring:

• A pre-loved garment, light-coloured, preferably white, made of cotton, linen, rayon, or silk

• Any plants you'd like to bring

• All other materials are provided, including the Botanical Contact Printing booklet with all recipes

 

Alongside traditional dye plants, we will also work with plants gathered from the streets, encouraging a deeper awareness of the generous and often overlooked nature that surrounds us—even in an urban environment like Metro Vancouver.
