E. Sixth Avenue Roadwork
Starting February 17, 2026 until August 2026, roadwork will take place on East Sixth Avenue between Cumberland Street and McBride Boulevard.
Construction is phased and coordinated to reduce disruption. Daily construction hours are limited (7:00 am - 3:00 pm), with work typically ending by 3:00 pm, which extends the overall project timeline but helps reduce impacts to nearby residents, businesses, and traffic. On Saturdays, work may continue until 6:00 pm.
Work will begin at Cumberland Street and East Sixth Avenue and proceed west toward McBride Boulevard, with additional improvements near təməsew̓txʷ.
Access to təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre will be maintained; however, short-term disruptions or temporary closures immediately next to active work areas may occasionally be required. Facility users should plan to arrive early for scheduled programs and lessons.
