Uptown Plaza reallocates a portion of Belmont Street road space to create a vibrant, accessible and welcoming gathering space for all. As part of the Uptown Streetscape Vision, endorsed by City Council in 2020, the plaza was completed in 2025.

Key plaza amenities include:

• Places for pedestrians to rest and socialize;
• Improved accessibility features;
• Flexible space for day-to-day use and programmed events;
• Multiple seating options: benches, seat walls, and Adirondack loungers;
• Garden beds, newly planted trees and seasonal shade sails; and
• Feature lighting and power provisions to support evening and community events.
