Construction Dates

The main purpose of this project is to upgrade the pedestrian crossing at the Royal City Centre mall parking entrance on Princess Street providing improved pedestrian access to the mall.

Traffic Impacts

Access to the mall parking, loading zone, and the residential buildings will be maintained, however, intermittent disruptions may occur throughout the construction period.

Traffic control measures will be in place on Princess Street. Users may experience changes to traffic patterns and occasional delays during median construction and pavement marking operations.

To reduce the impact on the public, signs will be provided to direct users, and traffic control personnel will be on site to assist. The contractor will coordinate construction activities to minimize disruptions wherever possible.

Traffic in both directions on Princess St will be affected during the construction of the new curbs, concrete median, raised crosswalk, and associated curb let-downs.

One way road from 8 St to 6th St. The entrance to the mall parking lot may need to be closed for a couple of days due to concrete demolition.

Temporary lane closures may be required during working hours. All users are advised to expect delays and allow extra travel time.

Hours of Work:
  • Monday to Friday: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Saturdays: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
