Get your letters to Santa written in time for the New Westminster Santa Parade on December 7th, 2013
New Westminster, BC – The City of New Westminster is gearing up for the 2013 Santa Parade, which will be taking place on December 7, 2013 at 11:00 am along historic Columbia Street in Downtown New Westminster. Kids will be excited to know that Santa himself will be in attendance, with Canada Post letter carriers walking in the parade collecting letters addressed to the North Pole.
“Our staff, volunteers and sponsors have been hard at work to ensure that this event is one to remember,” said Mayor Wayne Wright. “The parade will be a chance for us to gather together in our historic downtown, ringing in the holiday season and celebrating our community spirit in the wake of the Columbia Street fire.”
Following the parade, spectators are encouraged to take part in one or more of the following family-friendly activities taking place that day in New Westminster’s downtown business district:
- Arts Council Children’s Snowflake Workshop
10:00 am – 1:30 pm, Hyack Square
- Royal City Farmers Holiday Market Edition
11:00 am – 3:00 pm, River Market
- Interactive Christmas Craft Workshop
12:00 pm – 3:00 pm, River Market
- Free Photos with Santa
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Shops at New West
- Merry Fishmas
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Fraser River Discovery Centre
