New Westminster – Mayor Jonathan Coté will deliver a special virtual State of the City address on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
“The past year has been challenging for everyone,” said Mayor Jonathan Coté. “The City had to rapidly adjust to preserve community health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure continued operation of critical civic services, while supporting local business. However, even during this difficult time, Council was able to make significant progress toward fulfilling our Strategic Plan and improving quality of life in our community.”
This year’s State of the City address will feature a dynamic, multi-media presentation by Mayor Coté and Councillors. It will highlight the City's recent accomplishments and key initiatives, in areas ranging from affordable housing and sustainability to building community inclusiveness and upgrading key civic facilities. The presentation will also review the City’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how the City is preparing for post-pandemic recovery.
Participants will be able to join in a question-and-answer session with Mayor Coté and Councillor Mary Trentadue following the presentation.
The State of the City presentation will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 via Zoom. To register go to: https://nwmayorsstateofthecity.eventbrite.ca. Registration is free.
