Fire Ban Rescinded
Effective Wednesday, August 25, the fire ban implemented for New Westminster parks, natural lands, and the Glenbrook Ravine is no long in effect. Regular City bylaws with respect to smoking and fires within parks remain in effect.
This includes:
- No open fires are allowed in parks, except for briquette and propane barbeques for the purpose of cooking. Please note, briquettes must be removed by the user as there are no receptacles available for disposal in the Park. (Bylaw No. 7673, 2014, 8193, 2020)
- Smoking is prohibited within designated areas of City parks and other public spaces (Local bylaws).
Please take caution and protect our precious parks from fire damage.
