Colours of the Fraser
The FRDC is delighted to offer extra programming during long weekends with Summer Discovery Days! There’s so much to see and discover on these long summer days, and we hope you’ll join us!    
 
The Fraser River is full of colour—from the silvery scales of salmon and the changing hues of river water to the vibrant plants and wildlife that depend on this ecosystem. Join us to explore how colour tells stories about health, survival, and change in nature. Create your own fish print inspired by local species, investigate how turbidity is related to water quality and how aquatic life is affected, contribute to a collaborative salmon artwork, and uncover surprising myths and facts about colours found in the natural world.
 
WHAT: 
Create your very own fish print to take home
Do a water test to investigate turbidity and water quality
Contribute to a collaborative salmon community artwork 
Discover myths and surprising facts about colours in nature
 
WHEN: June 27th-28th, July 1st, 10:00am – 4:00pm   
Facilitated programs:
Fish print: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Water test: 1:00pm – 3:00pm  
 
WHERE: Fraser River Discovery Centre, 788 Quayside Drive, New Westminster, BC 
 
COST: Included in admission to the Discovery Centre. Admission is free for members. Specific costs are listed below:  
Family Ticket ($20.00) – for 2 adults and up to 4 children   
Adult Ticket ($8.00) – adult 19 and older   
Senior Ticket ($6.00) – senior 65 and older   
Student Ticket ($6.00) – student ID required   
Child Ticket ($5.00) – children aged 3-12   
Children 2 and under register for free. 
 
Caretakers are asked to remain with their children for the duration of their visit
