The Habitat

The Habitat includes a wide range of ecological features to experience including huglekultur, swales and berms, mushroom logs, nurse logs and a wetland bog. To support accessibility and year round programming within the new space, the outdoor pavilions have been renovated so they are usable for outdoor public classes and workshops, and a wooden boardwalk has been installed for viewing the bog.

Design features support native flora and fauna, while honouring Indigenous cultures that have been the custodians of the unceded and unsurrendered lands and waters. Read about the project.

This space was formerly known as The Queen’s Park Farm. Operations were paused in 2020 due to COVID-19. Following this closure, public engagement was conducted to determine the future of the spare and the concept of The Habitat was formed. See BeHeard Results
