We are happy to announce that the installation of the brand-new bike racks at Century House is complete! We invite you to hop on your bike and cruise on over to Century House. Happy cycling!
Background
In response to feedback from Century House members and to support active transportation and better accommodate visitors, the Parks & Recreation Department will install new bike racks specifically designed for e-bikes.
What's Happening
A contractor has been selected to install eight new racks near the main entrance. This will required the removal of the raised planter in that area. The location shown below was selected for several reasons:
- Safety and Security - It provides good visibility (“eyes on the racks”) from the building.
- Accessibility - It is close to the entrance for visitor convenience.
- Pedestrian Flow - It avoids any conflict with pedestrian walkways to Century House.
Schedule
Start Date: Expected to begin November 3.
Completion Date: November 30, 2025 (weather permitting)
Impacts
Parking: The contractor will use three parking stalls for a work and staging area (see map below). To minimize disruption, the contractor has been instructed to open these stalls for public parking the area is not in active use.
