Car Sharing Transportation Goals

The City promotes the development and expansion of car sharing in New Westminster aiming for environmental improvement and societal benefit. The City intends to:

• Reduce community greenhouse gas emission and increase sustainable transportation mode share, in line with the aims set of in the MTP and Metro Vancouver’s Regional Growth Strategy
• Reduce 30% overall GHG emissions by 2030 (Community Energy and Emissions Plan – CEEP)
• Improve public health through increased active transportation (Healthier Community Partnership)
