City of New Westminster recognizes Electric Utility Commissioners’ dedicated years of service
New Westminster – At the January 2014 Regular Electric Utility Commission meeting, Electrical Utility General Manager Rod Carle, Electric Utility Commission Chairman Martin Gifford along with Mayor Wright and CEO Lisa Spitale, recognized Inaugural ex-Chairman Mr. Jim Glanville and Commissioner Mr. Terry Parsons for their years of service. Both members are now retired.
“We’d like to thank both Jim and Terry for their dedication to the Electrical Utility Commission,” said Mayor Wayne Wright. “The support you provided and commitment you showed were invaluable and will not be forgotten.”
Jim Glanville was the Chairman from January 2007 - September 2009 (2 ¾ years) and Terry Parsons was a Commissioner from January 2007 - January 2014 (7 years).
Both gentlemen received the authentic Westinghouse ‘Legacy” Residential Electric Meter Circa 1920 that was used to bill the first residential customers of the New Westminster Electric Utility.
