Thank you to everyone for your overwhelming interest in our spring programs and especially the aquatics offerings at təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre. 

HIGH DEMAND FOR REGISTERED Aquatics 

In an attempt to get the indoor aquatic programs started as soon as possible, staff were only able to offer a limited set of swim programs during their phased opening. We are actively recruiting lifeguards and swim instructors. Aquatic program capacity is limited by the number and availability of trained staff, in addition to pool access during the phased opening; more programs will be added as capacity permits.

As always, individuals on the waitlists will be offered spots first as spaces become available in existing or added classes. Please ensure you have added yourself to waitlists where they are available so you don't miss out!

Pre-Requisites for Aquatics 

We are aware that many families experienced difficulties with registration due to pre-requisite requirements.

For those who completed swimming lessons in other municipalities, these skills will be acknowledged by New Westminster's swim program, however you do need to contact Parks & Recreation at 604-527-4567 or to ensure this information is entered into our registration system. 

We also want to apologize to those who encountered registration issues with the tot/preschool level programs who did have the correct New Westminster pre-requisites. This was an administrative error and we apologize for the frustration and inconvenience. This error has now been fixed and should not cause any issues moving forwards.
