Did you know təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre, which is all-electric, is the first completed aquatic center certified under the Canada Green Building Council’s Zero Carbon Building Design Standard? The rooftop solar panels create an electrical yield of about 300 mega watt hours per year, and the InBlue filtration system relies on gravity, cutting pump energy consumption by nearly 50 percent. The building is also LEED Gold certified and reduces 90% of greenhouse gas emissions compared to the previous facilities.
