Join us to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. We're celebrating a few days early this year to accomodate school groups. There will be cultural entertainment, physical activities, arts and crafts, Indigenous vendors, and storytelling. 

This is a free all-ages event, and everyone is invited. Drop by any time during the day.

Opening remarks & protocol at 9:30am, with the main event starting at 10:00am.

FEATURING SPECIAL GUEST: Fawn Wood, Juno Award Winning Artist (12:05pm)

  • Tyson Nahanee, Canoe teachings (10:00am)
  • Tsatsu Stalqayu Coastal Wolf Pack, Coast Salish drumming and singing (10:25am)
  • miyo-pimatisiwin, Pow wow, big drum and hoop dancing (11:05am)
  • V’ni Dansi, Traditional Métis dances (12:55pm)
  • Ernie Cardinal's Mighty Stoneface, Blues rock band (1:30pm)

Food Trucks:

Golden Bannock, Dos Amigos, REEL Mac & cheese, and Burgerholic.

Indigenous Market:

This year the Indigenous market will be the largest yet!  We will have 25+ vendors selling artwork and food as well as handcrafts such as beadwork, weavings and jewelry. Please come out and support local indigenous entrepreneurship, heritage and culture.

This event is hosted in collaboration with the Spirit of the Children Society, Qayqayt First Nation and the City of New Westminster. With funding support provided by First Nations Health Authority and the Government of Canada.
