Practices on care and preservation respects the physical, conceptual, cultural, historical and aesthetic integrity of each artwork.
Preventative conservation prior to the fabrication and installation of artworks as well as regular maintenance practices are needed to minimize the need for more interventive conservation measures on the artwork whenever possible. The Public Art Program will consult with appropriate experts and work with the artist(s) prior to executing conservation work on their artwork.
Documentation of all physical interventions on the artwork is maintained as a part of the artwork’s history.
