January 21, 2026

Starting January 21, access to East Royal Avenue will be restricted from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Access for first responders, buses, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at East Royal. Residents can access Victoria Hill via Memorial Drive.

Starting at approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, January 19, the Royal Avenue on-ramp will be closed. The on-ramp closure will remain in effect 24 hours a day for crews to remove a portion of the retaining wall alongside Bridge Connector and advance construction of the new on-ramp, tie-ins, and Royal-Agnes multi-use path overpass.

Drivers will use the Columbia Street loop-ramp via McBride Boulevard to access the Pattullo Bridge (see the graphic on the right). Alternate routes will also be advised through road signage.

The Pattullo Bridge is a key connection between the communities of Surrey and New Westminster. The new toll-free four-lane bridge will provide important improvements for everyone using the bridge, including people who are driving, cycling or walking, as well as communities on either side of the bridge.
