New Westminster Fire and Rescue Services would like to remind everyone of the regulations surrounding the use of fireworks in accordance with the Fire Protection Bylaw 6940, 2004.

Do you have permission to set off fireworks?

Consent is required from the property owner for fireworks intended for personal use and a City permit is required for high hazard fireworks. Roman candles are not permitted. 

Do you know where to set off fireworks?

Low hazard fireworks can be set off on private property, by an adult, with consent from the property owner.

Do you know when you can possess fireworks?

Low hazard fireworks can be possessed between October 28 and October 31.

Do you know when you can set off fireworks?

Fireworks may be set off in the late afternoon and evening of October 31.
