This City-led renewable energy project provides an opportunity for interested local residents, businesses and non-profit organizations to voluntarily subscribe to a portion of the total electricity generated by the array.

The Urban Solar Garden consists of two community-owned solar photovoltaic arrays:

• First Array: Queensborough Community Centre

• Second Array: City Public Works Yard

Both arrays generate local renewable energy for the benefit of subscribers within New Westminster. The solar power generated is credited back to each subscriber’s electrical utility bill twice per year, in proportion to the number of panels reserved.

July to December 2025 Urban Solar Garden Credits have been posted to subscriber electrical utility accounts.
