What's New
Water Main Break - Brow of the Hill
UPDATE July 15, 10:30 am
Water quality testing passed successfully, and after an additional system flush, water service has been reinstated to each property.

Building managers are currently working with plumbers to gradually restore service to each unit in order to ensure internal plumbing is not damaged.

Cloudy and discoloured water is to be expected once water is on due to sediment and air that was trapped in the plumbing. Residents should run the cold taps until the water clears.

UPDATE: July 14, 10:30 am
Repairs were completed last night and the system flushed early this morning. We are currently waiting for the results of the water sample tests. Unfortunately, due to the lengthy turnaround time for sample testing, our new ETA for water to be restored to properties is tomorrow morning, July 15.

The City is continuing to provide drinking water to residents in the properties without water.

UPDATE: July 13, 3:00 pm
Crews have isolated the break and are pumping water out of the hole so they can access the water main to commence repairs. Once repairs on completed, the system will be flushed and the water tested. If all goes well, water will then be restored to the affected properties.

Timeline for all this to be completed is tomorrow, July 14. In the meantime, the City is providing portable toilets and drinking water for residents in the properties without water.

Surrounding areas may experience reduced water pressure or discoloured/cloudy water; run the cold tap until the water clears.

Please note Eleventh Street is closed between Queens and Third Ave.

As of July 13, 12:30 pm
Crews are responding to a sizeable water main break in the area of Eleventh St between Queens and Third Ave. It's expected that 211 to 235 Eleventh Street properties will be without water while the break is repaired. There is no ETA at this time; more updates will be provided once the issue has been fully assessed.
