Downed and Damaged Tree Hazards

Due to significant overnight winds, urban forestry staff are currently responding to a number of tree failures. We expect more calls to come throughout the day as residents notice issues. Once crews have mitigated immediate risks, they will begin assessing parks and forested areas such as Queen’s Park, Glenbrook Ravine, and the Riverfront Walk.

Residents are advised to stay out of treed and forested areas until further notice.

Though the winds have lessened today, conditions remain unpredictable; there may still be hazards in the canopy. Updates will be provided on any specific hazards once staff have had an opportunity to assess and clear these sites.

To make a report of downed or damaged trees and branches, email  or call 604-527-4567. For trees on power lines or buildings, phone 9-1-1.

When making a tree report, please include the following information to help staff prioritize the responses:

  • Location, including nearest address or a point on a map
  • Size of the or limbs
  • Impacted property
  • Roadway, path or sidewalk impacts

Thank you for your cooperation.
